Mamie Currie Hughes is a community leader who serves on a variety of boards. She was a Charter Member of the Jackson County Legislature and serves on boards of the Health Care Foundation of Greater Kansas City, Midwest Center for Holocaust Education, Negro Leagues Baseball Museum, Samuel U. Rodgers Health Center and the Historic Jazz Foundation. She serves on the advisory boards of Friendship House/Catherine's Place and others. She is a former teacher, Ombudsman for Bruce R. Watkins Roadway and has a Bachelor of Arts degree from Fisk University. Ms. Hughes is the widow of Samuel U. Rodgers, M.D., MPH.
